Diploma in Medical Billing and Coding

The objective of Arizona College's Medical Billing and Coding course is to provide a sound education environment for instruction and training to equip its graduates for entry-level jobs as Medical Billing and Coding. This is accomplished through lecture’s, demonstration, and laboratory procedures. The Medical Billing and Coding course is concerned with health-related information and the systems used to collect, process, store, retrieve and communicate information for the support of operations, management and decision making within an enterprise. The specialist is qualified to work in a wide variety of health care settings, governmental agencies and managed care organizations. As computerization of information advances, the specialist is vital to medical coding, computerized billing and patient care data analysis. Arizona College's Medical Billing and Coding academic program is 3 terms of 10 weeks each, each quarter consisting of 10 weeks. The student completes a 5 week clinical externship. The program length will be approximately 30 weeks in duration.
