Doctor of Criminal Justice - Leadership

Liberty University’s online Doctor of Criminal Justice (DCJ) - Leadership can help students learn how to effectively oversee operations in public, private, and nonprofit criminal justice organizations. Throughout this program, students can learn how to use their research to address real-world challenges in the field of criminal justice. The Doctor of Criminal Justice - Leadership is a great option for senior criminal justice leaders who are seeking career advancement as well as for those who hope to soon don the mantle of leadership in their organization. Students will explore core criminal justice topics such as theories of crime, juvenile justice, comparative criminal justice systems, and transnational organized crime. Additionally, students can learn about the major tenets of various leadership theories and become equipped to face leadership challenges with grace, wisdom, and dignity. This program also covers how to build and sustain effective criminal justice organizations using strategic planning and human resource development. Lastly, students will complete a capstone project intended for application in a professional setting — so they can make valuable contributions to current operations and practices in criminal justice. Upon graduation, students can pursue roles as crime scene investigation unit managers, first-line supervisors of police and detectives, lead detectives/investigators, police chiefs, prison wardens, professors of criminal justice, public policy advisors, and regulatory affairs managers.
